Founder and President Cynthia Adkins has announced the launch of a new Conference Services division to serve inbound boutique and local groups in San Diego County. Led by meeting industry professional Karen Somers, the new team will support the underserved small group market with full service travel planning, group dining reservations, ground transportation, private concierge and meeting support services.
“We’ve seen a dramatic increase in small group requests over the past two years,” said Adkins. “We are now able to provide a dedicated team to support boutique groups with VIP service and attention.” Somers previous experience in both concierge and destination management brings a wealth of knowledge to the team. “We will also provide expert local support to larger groups whose meeting planners are working with reduced staff and smaller budgets,” Somers added.
Further expansion is set for April 2004, when Concierge At Large staff will open multiple on-site concierge desks at corporate and residential locations around San Diego County. “San Diego has embraced the concept of private concierge services,” Adkins said. New construction and increased competition between developments has helped the business grow. “We provide a value-added amenity that is flexible and cost effective. When a Concierge At Large professional is placed on-site, in addition to providing world-class concierge service our clients are in effect gaining an in-house travel agency, florist, dry cleaner, event planner, and ticket broker, to name a few.”
